Yeah, my friends today I want to share something about pride. What exactly pride means to you? It may be especially proud of (a particular quality or skill or talent or something).
👉Many times, we appear to be spiritual on the outside, but on the inside, we are haughty, Pride and this destroys our lives. These results may give u short time pleasure, fame, etc but remember they can ruin your life.
👉As C.S. Lewis said, “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”
👉The biblical example of pride coming before a downfall, one that ended in sudden death, is the account of Haman (Esther 3-7). A glory-hungry self-worshipper, Haman was never satisfied, no matter how much praise he received. The same could be said of Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4:30-37), who had to learn a long lesson in humility after exalting himself beyond his actual standing.
😇The core lesson we can take from each of these stories is this: “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11, Matthew 23:12)
4 Reasons why pride brings Destruction
👉Pride causes over-confidence, which blinds us to our weaknesses and can lead to destruction.👉Pride causes self-focus and repels others.
👉Pride causes people to reject the help they need from others.
As we are Human beings we should be careful that our strength, our talents, our skills, our health, our mind, or our beauty doesn’t cause us to lift our hearts up and be destroyed. Lift our hearts up in the ways of the Lord and brag on him. John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease”.
Let us examine ourselves today, that we are filled with pride or humility. let us pray with Lord that we may fear the Lord!!!
